LANXESS Receives Social Responsibility Excellence Award in China

LANXESS has been honored with the "Social Responsibility Excellence Award" at the "Responsibility, Openness, Sharing" CSR Case Study Awards 2023, presented by Shanghai Daily. This award recognizes the positive impact of the company’s diverse educational programs in collaboration with the Goethe-Institute in areas such as the promotion of vocational education and creative awareness among young people. Collaboration with Goethe-Institute to Nurture Future Leaders

The partnership with the Goethe-Institute is an important part of LANXESS' Global Education Initiative, which focuses on supporting projects in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). To translate this initiative into action, LANXESS and the Goethe-Institute have launched a series of educationally relevant projects.

Since 2011, LANXESS and the Goethe-Institute have been working on a number of educational cooperation projects aimed at supporting the educational and professional development of young people in China. These include the "LANXESS-Study Bridge" scholarship program and the "LANXESS-PASCH Dream Career Program", which provide high school students with internships to help them gain practical experience in different fields. 

By 2021, the cooperation has been extended to include the “LANXESS-PASCH Future Rally.” LANXESS is supporting this initiative, which aims to provide young people with diverse opportunities for career exploration. These projects are not only supported by institutions such as the German Embassy in Beijing and the German Centre Shanghai, but also help students to plan their future careers in the context of globalization.

The partnership between LANXESS and the Goethe-Institute has not only provided students with opportunities for professional training and company visits, but also lain the foundation for the development of future talents in the STEM fields. Since its launch in 2008, LANXESS has been actively involved in more than 500 educational programs, investing around EUR 8 million and positively impacting around 700,000 students.
